Survival Horror sequel Alan Wake 2 will be rocking up at GamesCom Opening Night Live, Geoff Keighley has revealed on Twitter.
While nothing specific has been announced, both Keighley and game director Kyle Rowley mentioned the Dark Place, which is where Alan Wake himself is trapped, so this indicates we’re going to get a new trailer focussed on his campaign. Previous footage on the game has focussed on Saga Anderson, including The Mind Place, where players are able to piece together evidence from her investigation.
Alan Wake 2 is the long-awaited follow-up to 2010’s cult action-horror title, and picks up 13 years after the events of the original Alan Wake. Unfortunately, the famed writer has been trapped in an alternate dimension known as the Dark Place all this time, where he battles against demonic entities infused by the power of darkness. Meanwhile, newcomer Saga Anderson travels to Bright Falls to investigate a series of ritualistic murders, where she becomes embroiled in the malevolent presence that threatens to overwhelm the town.
Alan Wake 2 is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S on October 17, 2023.
