NetherRealm Studios is seemingly incorporate a new single-player mode in Mortal Kombat 1 known as Invasions, according to images of the game’s packaging art listed on Brazilian retailers.
As spotted by a Reddit user, the back of the Mortal Kombat 1 box mentions Invasions as a new single-player mode, which, according to the blurb, sees players “travel through the realms of Mortal Kombat” and face off against different challenges.
While nothing official has been confirmed yet, it’s not out of the question we’d see a new single-player mode. The previous few Mortal Kombat games have had the Krypt and Konquest modes, while the main highlight is of course the story campaign.
Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled for release on September 19, 2023 for PS5, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S. The development team have reportedly been busy tweaking several game aspects, including the speed of movement and back dashing, with the dash block from Mortal Kombat (2011) also returning.
